As part of the Films for Our Future Festival, Pivotal is screening this beautiful documentary about a young couple on a quest throughout Britain for a more satisfying and sustainable way of living. Disillusioned by their urban lifestyles of consumption and alienation, Lily and Pete set out to discover other ways of living in the modern world. Their journey didn't provide them with easy answers, but it did inspire them and introduce them to some of the new ways of thinking that may just change the way we all live and help to protect the planet.
Includes interviews with filmmaker Bruce Parry, writer Paul Kingsnorth, permaculture pioneer Patrick Whitefield and many more.
The event includes post screening discussion, food tasting thanks to Country Kitchen and eco product stalls. Children are welcome but please be aware the film does include a scene of childbirth.
Free event, all welcome, donations to cover costs will be gratefully accepted.
Films for Our Future is a season of inspirational films and discussions hosted by sustainability and environmental groups from Cambridge and nearby villages. There will be opportunities for film goers to share their thoughts and feelings about the film afterwards, and explore what action(s) they can do to be a part of a groundswell of hope and action towards creating a better future.
